    The book details the history of the state’s iconic shellfish and tells the stories of the people and communities who harvest, grow, sell and enjoy Rhode Island’s rich and delicious native catch. You can purchase the publication, which comes alive with historic and contemporary photographs, or read it online on the R.I. Sea Grant website. The Ocean SAMP is the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council’s chief regulatory document for managing the uses and resources of Rhode Island’s offshore waters.     Ohio Sea Grant has worked to protect the environment of Lake Erie and the Great Lakes. With a strong combination of research, education and outreach efforts, as well as partnerships with academia, governmental agencies and the private sector, Ohio Sea Grant works with the Lake Erie community to solve the region’s most important environmental and economic issues. National Sea Grant Library The NSGL is the digital library and official archive for NOAA’s Sea Grant documents. It is the only comprehensive and deeply searchable collection of Sea Grant-funded documents from the over 30 programs and projects across the United States and Territories.

The purpose of the program is to give MESM Fellows opportunity to contribute to the work of Sea Grant programs. For over 50 years, the National Sea Grant College Program has supported coastal and Great Lakes communities through research, extension and education.

Sea Grant's mission is to enhance the practical use and conservation of coastal, marine and Great Lakes resources in order to create a sustainable economy and environment. Sea Grant is a Federal-University partnership program that brings science together with communities for solutions that work.

The National Sea Grant College program was established by the U.S. Congress in and works to create and maintain a healthy coastal environment and economy.
